Announcing leadership and excellence in value-based care
Donna Ramos-Johnson and Sita Kapoor to speak at Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference
HealthEC and the District of Columbia Primary Care Association team up to improve health outcomes for residents
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - August 14, 2017 - Donna Ramos-Johnson, MS, CPHIMS, Director and Chief Technology Officer at the District of Columbia Primary Care Association (DCPCA) and Sita Kapoor, Chief Information Officer at HealthEC, will speak about innovative strategies in building modernized data warehouses to improve health outcomes at the Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (MESC) in Baltimore, MD. Their session, titled “Applying Advanced Analytics to Improve Patient Care and Outcomes”, is scheduled on Friday, August 18th at 8:30 am Eastern Daylight Time.
Ramos-Johnson and Kapoor will discuss the value of advanced technologies in scrubbing, crosswalking, and normalizing 10 years of clinical and financial data to create a single unified data warehouse and complete longitudinal record for each patient. Among other topics, the speakers will also present the value that DCPCA has realized by applying advanced analytics to the data in order to understand performance across the network as well as the cost of care across procedures, patients, and providers. HealthEC’s state-of-the-art analytics tool is supporting value-based care by addressing resource utilization challenges, identifying and managing high-risk high-cost patients, and providing accurate forecasting and trend analysis.
"We are thrilled to be part of the care delivery revolution at DCPCA, and look forward to sharing these ideas with state Medicaid leaders at the MESC conference," said Kapoor. "As a data scientist at heart, it is very rewarding to hear stories about how technology is driving major improvements in quality of life and health outcomes, particularly for beneficiaries with multiple chronic conditions. We commend DCPCA on their work to identify and care for high-need patients with a coordinated, cost effective, data driven approach that supports positive patient outcomes and experiences."
MESC will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center, One West Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21201, from Monday, August 14th through Friday, August 18th, 2017.

About the District of Columbia Primary Care Association
In 1996, a group of health care professionals, concerned that the shortage of primary health care in the District of Columbia was contributing to increasingly poor health outcomes for the city’s residents, formed the District of Columbia Primary Care Association (DCPCA). Almost 20 years later, our membership includes 15 community health centers and nearly 50 health care delivery sites that serve approximately 200,000 District residents each year. DCPCA’s mission is to facilitate the development and sustainability of an effective, integrated health care system in the District of Columbia that guarantees access to primary health care and eliminates disparities in health outcomes.
