Summary/Objective

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating technical and business documents and manuals that explain complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates expert level functional knowledge of one or more of the HealthEC modules for software enhancements and new products
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Deep knowledge of current documentation development and delivery processes
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills including strong graphics skills
  • Works with audiences including sales, development, solution consultants to develop both "as designed" and "as build" documentation for software products
  • Translates complex concepts into clear, concise business and technical documentation
  • Designs and develops content including graphics, animation, and text
  • Maintains a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Conducts analysis of existing documents and updates them to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Manages updates and revisions to technical literature

Competencies

  • Effective organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and ability to interact with a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Ability to understand task requirements and work independently once tasks are assigned
  • Demonstrates attributes of Ethical conduct,
  • Proficient in MS Office and document management in a SharePoint environment
  • Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.

Preferred

  • 10 plus years of designing and delivering technical documentation in the IT arena
  • Experience with MS Visio
  • Experience with designing and developing content including graphics, animation, and text
  • Certificate in Technical Writing from an accredited university or equivalent

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Vice President of Information Technology

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and filing cabinets.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position on site at the corporate office. Typical Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 – 5:30 pm unless otherwise noted on our holiday schedule.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field of study such as Business, Healthcare, Computer Science or similar field
  • Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations,
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical writer for software products
  • Deep knowledge of current documentation development and delivery processes
  • Proficient in MS Office and document management in a SharePoint environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
